Anthony Barilla

A postcard from ANTHONY BARILLA, sent from Houston, Texas / USA. Tony was a fellow resident at the KHN Center for the Arts, and my roommate for two weeks. His poem is about a memorable group-trip to the River Country Nature Center in Nebraska City.  A lot of carefully arranged taxidermy over there. And a lovely guide.

Tony is a musician, writer, and performance artist based in Houston. Between 1998 and 2007 he worked principally with Infernal Bridegroom Productions, a Houston-based theater company. He contributes music to the national radio program “This American Life” and is currently working on a multi-year collaboration called Whole Wide Water with writer Lindsay Kayser, a songwriting collaboration with Merel van Dijk and a work of his own called Disputed Territories.
